With the looks this good and an extremely fun driving experience the Mini makes you feel like you're travelling faster than you actually are, the perky nature really sets the car apart from any other classic city car on the market. A car that was built for the people, a car that is extremely versatile and practical for day-to-day motoring while being able to deliver in racing with its go-cart-like handling.

This Rover example was produced in 1998 making it a Mark VII, the final evolution of the Mini Cooper with fuel injection, a front-mounted radiator and Air Condition. A full-width walnut dashboard replaced the original shelf, an internal bonnet release was added. The steering wheel, with Airbag but angled like a bus, feels instantly nostalgic. Just look at how skinny the doors are, any modern car feels like a fortress. Its bonnet stripes, spotlights and glinting chrome evoke a storied past, but wide wheel-arches and 13-inch alloys added to its modern appeal.

The Mini roar into life with a rasp, followed by the lovely whine of its four-speed gearbox. The 62hp 1,275cc A-Series engine is eager and tractable, helping this just 686kg car dash through city traffic. Although it felt much quicker, 0-60mph is 11.8 seconds and at 92mph it will flat-out.
