The Escort RS Cosworth was launched in 1992 as a "homologation special" and was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship in which it competed successfully between 1993 and 1998 in International Rallying.
The RS Cosworth is based around the mechanicals of the Sierra Cosworth, but built upon the fifth generation European Ford Escort platform with a longitudinal Sierra Cosworth turbocharged 2.0-liter YB Cosworth engine, Ferguson five-speed, four-wheel drive powertrain with a 34/66 front/rear split, and of course, the now iconic ‘whale tail’ rear spoiler. CONDITION REPORT:
Fully Original. The exterior paint and trims has visible blemishes but acceptable for the age. Original alloy wheels are in good shape but the tires must be replaced soon. The Interior shows some aging but period correct, the Recaro seats, dash, carpets and door cards are in condition that is inline with the mileage and age. The Radio and A/C are sadly not working at time of photography. Solid car, mechanically fine, engine, turbo, brakes, transmission, suspension all feel normal and in working condition.
