The 964 series are becoming increasingly popular being the optimum classic 911 for today’s time, combining the pure profile and small size of earlier cars with much more modern ancillaries and systems. In many people's opinion, the 964 has the best build quality of all 911 derivatives with great detail and a solid precise driving feel.
Representing a major step forward in the development of Porsche's perennial 911, Type 964 Carrera had been launched in 1989 to replace the ageing Type 930. Face-lifted but retaining that familiar shape, the newcomers had been given a more extensive work-over mechanically, 87% of parts being claimed as entirely new. The 964 was upgraded with a 3.6-litre, 250bhp, air-cooled flat-six engine, while power-assisted steering (another 911 'first'), anti-lock brakes and a five-speed manual transmission were standard, with the Tiptronic automatic box a Carrera 2-only option. Its new engine enabled the 964 to out-perform the old '3.2' yet still met the latest emissions regulations, top speed increasing to 162mph with 60mph attainable in 5.4 seconds (5.6 seconds Tiptronic).
THIS MOTOR CAR:
This Hong Kong supplied 911 C2 Cabriolet Tiptronic was delivered new in Feb 1990 by Jebsen Porsche. The body is finished in a classic shade of Guards Red with matching black leather interior with the distinctive Porsche car smell. Restored in 2019, it is presented in overall good condition with nice paint and good interior condition. The engine bay is in good order and the car comes with a stack of service records all the way from 2004. The HK VRD shows 6 previous owners from new. Spare tire and tool rolls are present, but sadly, the original owners manual pack is missing.

CONDITION REPORT:
Restored Original. Mechanically maintained and consistently serviced. An extensive restoration was completed in 2019, so the paint is still in a rather good condition. The aging interior and exterior trims have more or less been replaced. The convertible top canvas and it's mechanical parts were all replaced. The Porsche "Cup" alloy wheels were restored and shod with fresh tires. The Interior is largely original, except for the after-market radio and the front leather seat shell were upholstered locally. Air Condition is restored and in a good working condition at the moment. Service records from the past 20 years are presented and it shows that the car has been mechanically maintained throughout the years. As the 964 continues to grow in popularity amongst tuners and restorers, finding an unmolested example such as this one is becoming extremely difficult.
