1961 Mercedes 190SL | SOLD

Combining the drop-dead good looks of the 300SL with the more liveable mechanics of the 190 range was a marketing master stroke. The halo effect of the jaw dropping Gullwing ensured the Stuttgart entry level sportscar's popularity even until today.

The Mercedes Benz 190 SL was brought to market as an affordable alternative to the 300 SL. It gave broadly similar visual appeal and respectable performance for a fraction of the cost. The cars were immensely popular, especially in the United States and were a strong and long-running sales success for Mercedes Benz.
