Classic Insider condition score: 80 points out of 100
Original. Paintwork has subjected to a refresh just 3 years ago and is presented in good order with only some minor stone chips to the front end, and very small marks. Overall it is well-kept and bodywork is in good condition. New original decals were applied 3 years ago, but slightly peeling on some extreme curvy part of the front fender, visible only upon close inspection. The interior has obvious signs of use or wear, acceptable and inline with a 20 year old car. There are no known mechanical or electrical faults. Engine bay is dirty but tidy and service records shows it has been consistently serviced. Suspension and brakes fully serviced in 2017-2018.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY:
The first generation of the Lotus Elise is known as the Series 1. First introduced in 1996, the S1 Elise was an open top roadster featuring a mid mounted 1.8L inline four engine. Featuring a fiberglass body on an aluminum frame, the Elise was a light and agile car. A limited edition Elise known as the 340R was the most notable S1 variant. The Series 1 Elise was in production until 2001, and was replaced by the Series 2 Lotus Elise.
Offering sublime handling and a revolutionary lightweight bonded chassis, the Lotus Elise was released to rapturous acclaim from the motoring press and car enthusiasts alike, lauded by Top Gear as “one of the best handling cars in the universe”. This limited-edition Type 49 is an excellent example of Lotus’ landmark sports car, rarely seen in this part of the world. It would make for a superb addition to a collection of iconic sports cars or motorsport-related vehicles, and is ready to delight its new owner with a truly unfiltered driving experience.
