Mercedes AMG C63 Facelift | SOLD

The Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is based on the Compact C-Class and engineered for performance. This AMG is known for its high-octane engineering and featuring unique styling compared to the standard C-Class, including flared wheel arches, a lower ride height, and a quad-exit exhaust system. Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8 sending 451 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque through a 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT transmission. Shifts can be made manually via the gear lever or silver paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.

Despite the performance, the C63 is also made for the comfort and enjoyment of its driver and passengers. It is every inch a luxury car that offers sporty good looks as well as high-quality materials and special features on the interior. Upholstery and interior materials include Nappa leather and microsuede. The illuminated front door sills are a nice touch and so are the aluminum brushed pedals which create a sporty ambiance.

This 2014 Facelifted C63 AMG, doesn’t feature the Twin-turbo V8 already rolled out across the entire AMG range. Instead, it is the final place of refuge for the good old "M156" 451-hp, Naturally Aspirated 6.2L V-8. Originally delivered in May 2014, this single ownership car has been well-maintained by the official Mercedes Dealer throughout its life. The car has a mere 25,300KM on the clock and presented in an excellent condition throughout.

What makes the legendary 6.2 Naturally Aspirated AMG Engine, one of "the earth’s greatest power plants"? First, the good old V8 has a much sharper throttle response and a fire breathing roar compared to the new Turbo V8. Secondly, it is absolutely true to the tradition of AMG, who is the master of the "Massive-Displacement-Engine-In-Small-Car" formula. The 6,208 cubic centimetres and 451bhp wedged into Mercedes’ smallest rear-drive C-Class sedan, makes the car feel like it is on steroids. Third, it is blindingly quick. The C63 simply obliterates the 0-62mph dash in 4.4 seconds and does so in such a no-nonsense fashion, this "cluster bomb" will spin up its wheels at will with reckless abandon and underlines everything that’s correct about "too much is never enough".

This might give the impression that the C63 is a scary brute to drive. It isn’t. In fact, treat it gently, and it’s as benign as a heavily sedated grizzly, ambling without fuss and with a surprisingly compliant ride. But click the gearshifts into one of the sharper settings - the C63 gets a seven-speed, wet-clutch auto ‘box - and unleash your Right Foot, and the AMG becomes a reckless, tail-happy loon, but it is an eminently controllable drift thing. You know where the engine is, you know where the power’s going - if you end up in a ditch, it’s your own fault.

The C63 will smear a bigger grin across your face every day, and that's what happy motoring is all about.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY:

The C 63 AMG is the first AMG Mercedes designed from the ground up. The C 63 AMG has a revised front suspension that is shared with the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. The ESP features a full defeat mode, interfering only under heavy braking. The C 63 AMG also has the quickest, most responsive steering of any Mercedes automobile to date back then.

The Mercedes-Benz M156 engine, despite being detuned compared to other AMG offerings using the same powerplant, still provides the C 63 AMG with more horsepower and torque over its direct rivals such as the Audi RS4 and BMW M3. The 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission has AMG SpeedShift with three shift modes – Comfort, Sport and Manual – with the last one running with the converter locked allowing the driver to hold the engine at the rev limit. Car and Driver tested the car in their December 2007 issue and recorded a 0–97 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds at 187 km/h (116 mph). This made the C 63 AMG the quickest 4-door production sedan in the world at its debut.

The Mercedes C63 AMG comes in a choice of three variations including the cabriolet model, the coupe or a sedan. All feature a sporty luxury look with an A-Wing design, sculpted side sills, mech intakes, and a double crossbar grill. It’s a beautiful vehicle both on the inside and the out.

The good old days is now gone because this legendary 6.2 was replaced with a twin-turbo V-8 after the 2014 model year.
